Original Musical "Beijing Hutong"

The original instrumental musical "Old Beijing Hutong"  (also known as childhood memory) was created in late February 2017 by Mao Ya, a famous zither performer, and premiered in Tokyo, Japan, on March 15 of the same year by his original performance team. "Musical for instruments" is a kind of box structure real-life concert form founded by Mao ya. Its idea originated in 2012 and formed in 2015. It is inspired by Broadway musical and New York real-life stage play in recent years. It aims to make musical instruments as the main carrier and auditory feeling as the main media; Live performance is the main expression of the plot, that is, "telling stories with instrumental music". "Old Beijing Hutong" is the rudiment of Mao Ya's original instrumental musical. It tells the story of the quiet old Beijing city that is not far away but always belongs to a childhood memory in the original author's own language. The materials of the whole musical are integrated into Beijing's crosstalk, bicycle bells, Jingyun drum, Jingju tune, Jingqiang peddler, pigeon whistle, neighborhood greetings, etc. Based on the rhythm of Beijing People's daily life, the musical can be divided into four scenes, i.e., "waking up early in the morning dream", "playing in the afternoon lane", "the afterglow of the ancient wall" and "fun at night". The four scenes are in one breath, and the different scenes are connected by the actual performance and the live electronic music performance. At the same time, the live electronic music performance and other cross-border art forms are intermingled in each scene music.
